Dave Cotton

Pastor

David Cotton is the pastor here at Savannah Way Baptist Church and committed to the calling which God has called him to in pastoring the church. He preaches with passion and holds to the Word of God as his source in ministering. Dave and his wife Rebekah have been involved in ministry for the past 15 years and moved to Katherine to continue on the work here in October 2020. They have 4 children, Beniah, Nathan, Johnny and Hudson. Dave was saved as child when he was 12 after hearing his own father, also a pastor, preach on the need for salvation. In September 2000, he surrendered his life to the Lord and the ministry. Dave and Bek were married in 2002 and became involved in their home church in Mount Gambier, where they organised and led the Youth Group along with a few mission trips overseas. During a holiday trip of July 2019, God got a hold of Dave's heart to be surrendered to becoming a pastor and it was quite literally a few months later when the call to serve in Katherine came!

Ephesians 3:20,21 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worth in us, Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” This verse has been the promise given in so many ways to Dave and Bek as they take on the ministry here which God has called them to. With a heart to reach other people for Christ and to do their best for God, they look to the Holy Spirit to guide them each step of the way.
